Amazonify Update Includes a New Options Page
Saturday, March 1st, 2008 by Gary KeorkunianPosted in Amazonify |
The newest Amazonify update - version 0.6 - includes a new Options Page.
Use the new options page to globally set your default Amazon Tracking ID. This eliminates the need to insert the Tracking ID in every Amazonify tag set. If you work with multiple Tracking ID’s you can insert different ones to override the default.
Like Googmonify, I think that Amazonify is just about ready for prime time. However, before I make the leap to version 1.0 I would like to get some feedback from some Amazonify users. If you have any problems with the plugin I would like to hear about them.
Visit the Amazonify page here.
Keep having a great weekend!!

I did a quick test and like the Plugin a lot.
Right now there are noch options for other countries…
what would I have to change to make use of Amazon Germany?

Hi missfits. It’s true, I haven’t yet provided support for other countries. I will look into the changes I need to make and get an update out soon. You can subscribe to the Amazonify RSS feed to receive info on updates.

Thanks a lot Gary!
I will stay tuned.
If you plan a translation of the backend I’d be happy to help for German.

Hi, Gary -
I’ve been looking for an effecient way to handle affiliate links for books on my blog. This looks pretty good (especially the text-link support and other options).
Any chance you could configure this to accept ISBNs as well as ASNs?

Hello -
I just downloaded and installed the plugin, but I can’t find the “options” page anywhere! Can you help?
I am currently using Wordpress 2.5
Thanks

Paul,
Go to the WordPress Admin page, select the Options menu. You should see Amazonify in the submenu. You can set the options there.
CircleReader,
Thank you for the feedback. I will look into adding that feature. Thank you for the suggestion.

Great plugin! Thanks for this. Is it possible to make the links click through to amazon.co.uk links and show pound sterling prices instead of $’s? It would be perfect then!

rex,
I am glad you like it. The next revision of Amazonify will include internationalization support for at least the UK, France and Germany and perhaps more. It may be closer to the end of the month when that revision will be ready.
In the mean time you may be able to modify the plugin yourself by changing the amazon URL.
In version 0.8.1 on lines 84, 90, 96, 120, 131 and 134 you will find the references to amazon.com.
If you change those to amazon.uk.co that should do it. I haven’t completely tested this but it should work.
If you do make the change, please let us know how it works.
Thanks,
Gary

Don’t forget to add amazon.ca when you add other localizations (please).
Any chance that you will release a version that lets you use more than one associate ID from more than one country? I have a .com, .ca, and .uk id. I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this (Sites I visit routinely lose a click because all they have is amazon.com affiliate links).
