I’ve made the decision to open up commenting on this blog. Now all visitors, not just GARA.com members, will be able to express their views on my posts.
At the risk of being obvious, I would like to point out a few guidelines. First, If you disagree with me or another poster we want to hear what you think, but please refrain from using offensive or abusive language. Name calling never adds to a conversation. Second, if you are trying to promote your website, that’s great, you may do so, but please contribute something to the discussion. Don’t just a put link to your site and leave. If you post a link that’s not relevant to the conversation or points to something offensive, I will most likely delete it.
I look forward to using the blog as a starting point for discussions. Of course, I will continue to do my best to provide you with valuable knowledge on technology, new and old products, free and open source software and more. I believe that will only enhanced by the contribution from you.

As many of you may have noticed, the GARA Systems web site has undergone a significant overhaul. In addition to the new look and feel of the site there are a variety of new and improved features including:
- Member Registration - Join GARA Systems Online today and enjoy of a variety of benefits.
- Shop - Use the GARA aStore to view my personal recommendations and purchase directly from Amazon or browse the Affiliate catalog for the technology product and service providers that small businesses find the most useful.
- Blog - Registered members can comment on and discuss my blog articles.
- News Reader - stay up to date on technology news from the most respected sources.
- Tools - Subscribe to RSS feeds from GARA, browse the Free Software Catalog and more.
- Google Search - The Google Search integrated into much of the site can be used to search GARA.com or the entire Web. Web searches are optimized for the small business technology context.
In the coming months more features - like forums and how-to articles - will be added to the site. Sign up now to be take advantage of the new features and to be notified when additional features come online.

After all of these years of being a computer and Internet consultant, I have finally decided to start a blog.
In this blog I will be writing on a variety of computer, software and Internet related topics. My intention is to write on topics of interest to owners and operators of small businesses and other organizations and the IT professionals that provide services to small organizations.
For those of you who don’t know me you can learn about me here. I have close to 20 years of experience in the field and I find great joy in sharing my knowledge.
I’ve looked forward to doing this for some time and hope that many of you find the site useful. Check back often or subscribe to our RSS feed.
