Server Applications

Running Server based applications can become very expensive when using commercial products.

Here you will find the server applications that let you create server platforms using a variety of configurations. These platforms, sometimes called "enterprise software stacks", can then be used to host a wide range of applications. These can be completely custom applications or existing packages such as the those listed here.

LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP / Perl / Python) is a fast growing open source enterprise software stack. More and more companies are using LAMP as an alternative to expensive proprietary software stacks because of its lower cost and freedom from lock-in.

There is no need to shell out thousands of dollars for top of the line server software. The servers listed here are all world-class products that are widely used and tested, and are completely free.
